Prior to joining iNHouse, she spent a number of years in government as a Special Adviser. Most recently, Emma worked for the Government Chief Whip ahead of the 2024 General Election. She worked across the Government’s legislative programme, working with MPs to ensure that all legislation passed through the House of Commons.

Following the 2019 General Election, Emma was appointed as Special Adviser to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. She was responsible for a number of policy areas, media and legislation. She has significant experience in food and drink – including the initial pandemic response, the publication of the Government’s Food Strategy 2022, and issues relating to trade – as well as agriculture, fisheries, and environmental issues.
