Paul Ovenden

Paul worked for the Labour party from 2014 – 2017, serving under two leaders, through two general elections, two national referendums and countless local and by-elections. During this time he worked in a variety of roles, including as Labour HQ’s lobby spokesperson, co-running Labour’s national press desk during the 2017 election and running the party’s communications in the south east of England.

His most recent role was at M&C Saatchi, where he helped deliver the government’s counter-extremism programme, creating and delivering campaigns, providing strategic advice and working with organisations, councils and authorities across the country. Having started as an intern in the lobby for the Sunday Telegraph, Paul has also worked for Sky Sports, Maggie’s Cancer Centres and the NSPCC. He has been published by The Independent, Times Red Box and HuffPost and regularly appears on political podcasts.
