Our work with Switchee

Switchee is a British tech start-up helping to improve the lives of people living in rented social housing. Switchee’s device provides real-time data which enables residents to lower their heating bills by up to 17% while also identifying signs of condensation, damp and mould to housing providers so they can act to prevent.

Raising awareness of social impact

Switchee commissioned iNHouse to generate momentum and interest that drives awareness of Switchee among key stakeholders, including parliamentarians and journalists, and develop Switchee’s reputation as a force for good in social housing.

Securing tier 1 media

During our programme of work, iNHouse secured an exclusive with The Guardian to announce Switchee securing £5 million worth of investment from Octopus Ventures and AXA IM Alts; investment which will help Switchee remain on the trajectory for its devices to be installed in 1 million UK social homes. iNHouse generated further media coverage in other key outlets, such as Sifted, UK Tech News, Inside Housing, and Housing Digital. The announcement went global and even reached as far as Japan.

Creating impactful engagement

Following the announcement, engagement with Switchee’s LinkedIn skyrocketed. On the day alone, Switchee’s LinkedIn post about the announcement received 15,538 impressions, and Switchee’s LinkedIn account gained a 989% increase in followers from the previous average. The LinkedIn post from Switchee’s CEO, Tom Robins, received over 2,000 impressions within the first six hours. Switchee’s web traffic also increased by 721%. This meant that, compared to the 30 days prior, Switchee had gained more new followers and had more total engagements than their closest competitor. The Guardian also tweeted about the announcement, and their posts received almost 35,000 collectively.
